CONGRATULATIONS to MAR DEL PLATA

The Southern OPEN Winners

Last weekend the team Mar del Plata  - won the final of the Southern Open at Mar del Plata Polo Club in Argentina.

The Southern Open Tournament was played over three days with six teams competing, a fiercly fought competition with teams from all over the Pampas qualifying to compete in this tournament.

The champion team of James Spring, Justo Viera, Hernan Muzzio and Segundo Videla Dorna had their trophies presented by the Argentine Polo Association at a champagne reception held on Sunday night.

James Spring and his wife Georgina both play at Tidworth Polo Club in the UK and were coached by Carlitos Gonzalez for two weeks prior to competing, which certainly paid off with James scoring the first goal in the first chukka.

Georgina Spring, James wife also qualified to play in the final with the team Los Ortiz-Mumm, the final score was 5 goals to 2.

Antonio Manzorro was awarded the La Capital Cup for the best player in the final.
