Watch out for Carlitos Polo on business programmes worldwide, filmed in Argentina in February 2006.

The programme goes out to 550 million homes worldwide and on 19 of the world’s leading airlines from March 2006 onwards.

This programme will build the profile of the game of Polo and  Polo Tourism in Argentina all over the world.

In December we received a phone call from a reporter and producer for a television programme called World Business.

“I am a reporter and producer who works for a TV programme called World Business that runs on numerous channels across the globe, including CNBC Europe and Star World in Asia (there it is called BusinessWeek Asia). I am coming to Argentina to do a story about Polo tourism and I found your web site, (as you have won an award for tourism in Argentina) and thought you guys would be perfect for my story.

I would like to talk to you about what type of story I have in mind, and to see if you guys would be interested in being profiled on our programme. The programme will be shown all over the world.”

Well, of course we were interested..… the programme would cover how we started our Polo Holidays here in Argentina, why more and more people are coming here year on year.  Filming of what people do while they are here with us, schooling and training on the beach, practice chukkas, stick and ball lessons, and playing in competitive tournaments.

People on holiday were also interviewed as to why they come to Argentina rather than say South Africa. How strenuous the holiday is, why people take up polo, why do they want to come to Argentina, is it an affordable holiday?  How much cheaper is it to learn to play polo in Argentina than say England and the USA? How we have helped the local economy with visitors buying leather products (interview with the local leather store owner), hotels, airlines, restaurants, saddlery shops, sales of polo ponies. Why is Polo important to their businesses? How polo tourism has increased in Argentina in the last five years and why? Why has our business grown so much in the last five years? Why Mar del Plata? Why and how is polo increasing in popularity worldwide and why more people worldwide go to Argentina? The minister for tourism was interviewed as to why Argentina is so popular and how important Polo it is for local businesses?

How our business in Argentina from November to March works closely with our polo business in the UK from April to September.

Traditionally the sport of the royal or rich, polo is being played by more people worldwide. Why Argentina is the best?

Explaining why, for the local community this is good news.

The producer even employed a local camera team to do the filming.

Filming and interviews took place in Mar del Plata, Argentina on the 9th and 10th of February 2006.

Karin, the presenter had a go at hitting a polo ball and is already hooked, she needed a siesta afterwards though, she loved the adrenaline rush of galloping flat out on the beach, wait until she starts playing polo!!!!

 Sand splattered on the beach!

Carlitos Polo will be televised from March 2006 onwards on the following programmes worldwide and on 19 of the worlds leading airlines, so keep an eye out:
