The President of Tourism in Argentina awards the title Ambassador of Tourism in England to Carlitos Gonzalez in recognition for his valuable work in promoting Argentina through his polo holidays.

On the 26th February 2004 Carlitos Gonzalez, player and coach at The Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club was awarded Resolution 069/04 Ambassador of Tourism in England by the President of Tourism for Argentina for his valuable work in promoting Argentina through his polo holidays. 

The President confirmed in a letter to Carlitos he wished to express his thanks to him for accompanying groups of English polo players in order that they can perfect the discipline of their sport and it was for this reason, the president wished to express recognition for his valuable work and awarded Carlitos, Ambassador of Tourism and he concluded it gave him great pleasure to have the opportunity to be able to present this award to him.

Carlitos was awarded a certificate under Resolution 069/4 declaring under Article 1 - he is an Ambassador for Tourism in England and Article 2 stating this title is registered and published with the Department of Administration, Department of Promotion and Management of Institutional Relations for Argentina in Mar del Plata and in London, England.

Mar del Plata has been the center of tourism for Argentina (EMTUR) since the Pan-American games were held there in 1985, more tourists visit this city every year than any other in Argentina, with a 13% increase in visitors this summer alone.

There has been a 50% increase in international polo players year on year going to stay with Carlitos since he started offering polo training and tournaments in Mar del Plata, Argentina six years ago.

Carlitos Polo Holiday is based from his club in Mar del Plata, situated next to the ocean in a stunning natural park, full of eucalyptus trees and green parrots. Throughout the season (November-March) Carlitos clients also compete in Military Polo Tournaments, Estancias and Polo Festivals, which are held close to Mar del Plata.

We asked Carlitos why he thought his holidays were so popular and his clients visit him regularly year on year, often twice in a winter season. He replied

The city has a lot to offer, great restaurants and you can stay in all levels of accommodation, in five star hotels, Estancias or an apartment in front of the beach, also my clients are free to ride all day long if they wish with tournaments every weekend.

What made you want to start polo holidays in Argentina? Because I love to see people improve their polo and I like the hot weather

What kind of advertising do you do to promote your holidays in Argentina?  We have a web site but really no other advertising as we have the best advertising ever and that is by word of mouth!
