Event Format and
Briefing
Polo incorporates
riding, stick swing technique and tactics. All of the participants will
be divided by riding ability and each party then rotates and experiences
the following activities. |
|
|
Riding
By their very
nature, polo ponies are trained to be responsive and obedient, allowing
even a complete riding novice to gain confidence. |
|
|
Stick Swing
Technique
With the aid of
short mallets, clients learn the basic shots while standing on the
ground. |
|
|
Wooden Horse
Purpose built
wooden horses allow clients to practice hitting the ball without the
added distraction of a real horse. |
|
|
Hitting the ball
while riding a horse
Once all of the
clients have learnt the basics of riding and the stick technique, the
two are combined so that the group can practice their hitting whilst
riding. At this stage they are assessed and arrange into teams for the
match. |
|
|
The Match
The clients will
compete in a tournament, using a larger than normal ball for more
achievable results. |
