After getting the pony club ponies used to the polo mallets we then started a chukka! All the ponies behaved very well, just getting a little touchy sometimes if they were not next to a friend! The children really got stuck in and it soon became clear who was the most competitive! The grass was a little long at camp so this did not make it very easy for the children to hit the ball.
All the children and the polo ponies loved it, the polo ponies because they had never had just lightweights on their backs and the children really began quickly to understand how to play the game and how important it is to play with their team mates and not just alone. Pony Club Polo Summer 2006 This summer holidays we will go outside and learn hitting with the little white ball, rather than the small football in the arena. A lot of the pony club children have been practising with their hand mallets on their bicycles through the winter and even on their ponies tapping the ball around. When I get back from Argentina with polo mallets and hand mallets for all we can have some good fun in the summer holidays again, and hopefully at Pony Club Camp as well. Perhaps everyone would learn one or two words of Spanish as well, that would make the grooms very happy!

The mums and dads all want to have a go now so in the summer holidays we can arrange a parents day to try polo as well! If we can get the children off them???
Whos going to be first to the goal, Charlie or Eleisha!!
